JPMorgan Chase has shuttered the business account of Houston Morgan, Head of Marketing and Protocol Relations at ShapeShift, marking another incident in a growing trend of crypto-related debanking. The closure, executed without prior warning, follows similar actions against other industry figures, including Strike CEO Jack Mallers.

Morgan received a abrupt notification on November 21, stating his account would be closed unless additional details were provided—despite no prior communication from the bank. His personal account is slated for closure this week, compounding concerns about financial access for crypto professionals.

ShapeShift, a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO), operates as a non-custodial platform, distancing itself from traditional banking dependencies. Yet its executives remain vulnerable to abrupt policy shifts by legacy institutions.
